Lynn Kennedy- visual artist
I am a visual artist who has been developing my practice in various mediums in since 2017.
I have explored and deepened my portraiture knowledge through my consistent work in life drawing, and almost daily cafe sketching. Much of my work is in oils but I also love to work in watercolour, with clay, some digital illustration, soft pastels and pencils. I enjoy figurative and portraiture work but also paint and draw still life, landscapes and animals.
I have a degree in Classical Animation from IADT, and have explored the human form in my wide-ranging work as an animator, a 3D modeller, a graphic designer, an illustrator and as a portrait photographer. I now paint full-time, as well as offering painting and drawing workshops, and working as a tutor at the Schoolhouse for Art in Enniskerry, in BIFE in Bray, Flux in Dublin, Signal arts centre and classes from my home.
My work has been exhibited at the National Gallery of Ireland, the Crawford Gallery, the
Piano Nobile Gallery, London, the Royal Hibernian Academy, and the Royal Ulster Academy.
